Located along the stunning coastline of Big Sur, Cafe Kevah offers both breathtaking views and hearty meals that have garnered enthusiastic reviews from visitors. Guests like Mark Engel praise the Cobb Salad, a generous dish perfect for sharing, complemented by freshly baked sourdough toast. Others, such as Krisitna Pandozzi, were delighted by the unexpectedly delightful sandwiches that also came with vibrant salads— a highlight that showcases the cafe's commitment to freshness.
What truly sets Cafe Kevah apart, however, is the efficient and friendly service provided by staff like Victor, who is noted for handling busy hours with exceptional grace. The atmosphere is casual, encouraging guests to place their orders at the counter before taking in the views. Alan Varghese aptly describes it as a wise choice to skip the wait at the famous Nepenthe, while still enjoying equally stunning vistas.
With no long lines and a focus on quality, Cafe Kevah is a must-stop destination in Big Sur for those looking to savor delicious food in a scenic setting. Don’t forget to grab a muffin or cookie on your way out— a perfect way to end your experience!

Cobb Salad and a View! The view was amazing and there was no wait here as opposed to a 20 min wait at Nepenthe. There is no table service with a waitress but you order at the counter and they bring you your food. The Cobb Salad was HUGE and big enough for 2 people. I ordered some sourdough toast to go with the salad. This was a great stop.

What a treat! We randomly pulled over while driving Big Sur and stopped here. We both ordered sandwiches. When we saw giant, fresh vibrant salads going out we immediately wished we'd ordered those and were more than delighted to discover the fabulous sandwiches also came with salads. Nice view.

Amazing views and reasonably good food with no wait time, unlike the famous Nepenthe upstairs. The views are actually pretty similar so it is a decent compromise, as you only lose the number of food and drink options for the 30-45 minute wait time. All the sandwiches are decently sized and come with a salad which is quite nice. They also have nice muffins, cookies, a breakfast menu and friendly staff. The restroom is downstairs in the gift shop.

Victor working the counter at Cafe Kevah was holding it down! Exceptional customer service. He was able to fulfill the orders of a long line of customers 30 minutes before closing while simultaneously fielding all the questions of people who didn’t know the cafe was closing/weren’t happy about the Nepenthe wait times/wanted other restaurant recommendations. I have never seen someone so capable of staying friendly, warm, and polite no matter the tone of the people speaking to him. Idk what they’re paying him now, but he needs a raise just for what I saw him handle last Saturday. The GOAT Also the food & views were delish! You’re paying for the views and the customer service here at Nepenthe/Cafe Kevah, so it’s okay that the food was less interesting and expensive (imo).

Staff were great, ordered food and they brought to table and bussed it when we left. I got the Brioche French Toast w fruit compote, and my Mom got the breakfast burrito. The FT was pretty good, personally I think it needed more butter it felt a little dry but still yummy. The salsa was fresh and great with the burrito which my Mom loved. I got a Cafe Mocha and it tasted perfect. We came because I wanted to see the amazing views of the ocean, buy unfortunately the marine layer had other plans. The trees and other plants and flowers add to the beauty, so peaceful. We loved it. There is also a gift shop that opens at 10:30.

Delicious food, friendly staff, breathtaking views! I have celiac & they were very accommodating! It was on the pricey side - but I guess they can be with a view like this.

This place is truly beautiful. If you want to get a good seat you better come early. We arrived just before they opened and managed to snag a great table with a view, but within 20 minutes the place was full. The food is great and if you are lucky enough to get one of their cinnamon rolls, you will be delighted! They are freshly baked on site and so delicious!
